For Retail Agents
Keep the Client. Add a Specialist Path.
When workers’ compensation becomes the line nobody can solve, the entire account can become vulnerable.
AltComp Risk helps retail agents evaluate difficult WC opportunities and access the FastechHR program without turning the wholesaler into a competitor for the client relationship.
Think of AltComp Risk When You Hear:
“Our carrier non-renewed us.”
“Our mod jumped and renewal got ugly.”
“We were cancelled.”
“Nobody wants this class.”
“We're stuck in assigned risk.”
“We're a new venture.”
“We've had a coverage gap.”
“The losses are killing the renewal.”
“The carrier declined it.”
These are not nine different products. They are nine different reasons the account needs specialist attention.
Why Retail Agents Use a Specialist
Account Defense
A difficult workers' comp issue can invite another producer into an otherwise stable account. Solving the hard line helps the incumbent remain the adviser.
New Business
The account competitors cannot solve can become the account that opens the door.
Technical Leverage
You do not need to become your own PEO underwriter, claims analyst, and wholesale placement desk.
Niche Positioning
A producer who learns one vertical deeply can stop competing as a generalist.

Agent FAQ
Do I need to be appointed before I ask about an account?
Start the account conversation with the account. Send the basic facts and available documents; if the opportunity moves forward, the applicable relationship and contracting steps follow the governed program process.
Can you work with my existing client?
The model is wholesale and retail-agent focused. Client contact should be coordinated with the producing retail agent according to the applicable relationship and agreement.
What if I only have partial information?
Send the opportunity. The account may be placed into an Information Required stage rather than rejected simply because every document is not available on day one.
What if the class is high hazard?
That is exactly when operational detail matters. Industry names alone do not determine appetite.
What if another wholesaler has already approached markets?
Disclose the market history. Duplicate approaches can create clearance and strategy problems.
What if I have a question but no full submission?
Use the Quick Appetite form on this page.
Where can I learn how to prospect these accounts?
BindLab.app — the training and enablement platform for difficult workers' compensation.
